Headphone audio

Jdip97

Okay so i have a PlayStation  4 and i have a headset with mic. I often play with my friends and i want my girlfriend to be able to here and talk with us. I bought  a headphone splitter and it works but i can no long talk when i use it. Is there anyway for us to both listen an chat?

Headphones imply no mic, so your splitter won't be able to carry the mic signal. Probably have to find a headset splitter. But definitely read details before purchase, as a headset splitter could also mean splitting into separate audio and mic ports like a PC typically has that isn't what you want.

Alternatively, you could do audio on your sound system and hook up some mic for you two to use. The Playstation Camera has mics for example. No idea how good that is and what kind of issues you'll get from your friends who may pick up some of your game audio depending on the setup.

This is a limitation of the splitter that you purchased. Could you let me know which headset you are using?

You might be able to get away with a cheap USB audio card for your girlfriend's set of headphones. Please note, however, that you cannot have two active audio inputs on the same system.

I'm guessing you'll need a second controller and headset.  Have her login with her own account (she won't need ps+ to party chat) and she just joins the party?
