Asus TP550LD Screen and Driver Issues.

My brother bought this laptop awhile back but if it is not plugged in the screen flickers. I instantly assumed it was an issue with the battery but after ready many forums I found that that was not the issue but it was common.

 

I cannot find any official fixed or anything like that and I have updated it's bios.

 

My questions are if forcibly installing Intel Graphics Drivers on a laptop with a Dedicated GPU inside is a 100% no-no.

 

Second question is if one of you know how to solve this issue please let me know, if it is a hardware issue I would love to know that way I can point my computer fixing guy in the right direction before he goes in without a true clue about what is wrong.

by flicker you mean it changes brightness on it own when you are displaying a darker image?

It is completely random it is to the point where it could cause someone an epileptic episode. But with that being said it is only the brightness going up and down extremely fast at random but very fast rates. I can still see the desktop etc.

it still sounds like you are talking about intel hd graphics' feature. Have you tried this?

Just finished trying this and no, It still does it, this is so strange. it is almost like the computer itself decides to not give enough energy to the screen once it is running on battery.
