Will it bottleneck?

Go to solution Solved by MbV93,

It'll be ok. Quad core i5 is more than enough, it's not the best i5 of course but it'll handle the card perfectly while you get a CPU upgrade, it's not urgent at all.

Hello,

I am genuinely worried that I'm going to bottleneck my graphics card so it won't perform to it's fullest potential. I am planning to replace my old GTX 550 Ti 1 GB card with a GTX 760 4 GB (most likely to get that) or a R9 280X 3 GB. I do not have enough money to upgrade my processor right now, so I'm worried that my cpu is going to be behind the gpu. I am planning to get a i7-3770K.

Here are my current specs, btw my PC was prebuilt, but I have modified it overtime;

Intel Quad Core i5-2300 @ 2.80GHz, 3.2 Turbo

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x 4GB) Red RAM @ 1866MHz (Just Bought)

EVGA 151-IB-E699-RX LGA 1155 Motherboard (Just Bought)

EVGA GTX 550 Ti 1GB GDDR5 192bit Superclocked

Windows 64 bit blah blah

Seagate 1 TB HDD @ 7200 rpm

Cooler Master V700 PSU (Just Bought)

Corsair Obsidian 750D Case (Just Bought)

I have ordered a new motherboard, psu, RAM, and case for Christmas (Already installed, works fine)

So, I'm planning to replace my 550 ti with a GTX 760 or R9 280X but I'm worried it will bottleneck my old i5-2300. What do you think? Would it bottleneck? Thanks.
