in the intel official website it says that my processor can handle 1333mghz of ram speed

do you really need the same frequency as the processor required?

can i use higher frequency RAM?

Processor (intel i5 2500 2nd gen).

I cannot answer that with a truthful answer. personal;ly, I would always stay within the guidelines just to be safe. You also may weant to check out what the motherboard says for ram support as well. Thats what i usually base it off of

Yes, a CPU can run with lower/higher frequency RAM.

Just make sure the motherboard supports it though.
