Hello I am new around here but I have a very annoying problem with my gtx 1060(6 GB). Recently windows decided that it will update and after that the 1060 started to underperform. I did some tests and in some games where it has to load a detailed city(nfs payback) it stutters and in games like battlefield 1 where before it held smooth 60 fps now it drops as low as 30 fps(this happens on many other games too). I have made 2 clean reinstalls on the driver. I am sure that it isn’t a hardware problem because everything else runs fine and it started with the windows update. Thank you in advance!

Intel or AMD base?  Some of the patches for CPU vulnerabilities messed around with performance in a number of areas, so there were lots of updated drivers to mitigate the issue (video, chipset. etc.).  Make sure you've updated your hardware drivers (not just GPU) if there are new ones available.

Then again there's just MS's updates screwing around with things in general.

Did you use DDU to delete nvidia drivers before installing them? If you havent download that and do it again.

Well it was a success! Clean install and the driver updates worked really well, thanks again!
