So I never thought I'd ever buy an Alienware, however, I was looking for a laptop for around the £1300 mark. Ideal scenario was a 1060 with a 7700HQ, a small boot SSD + 1TB HDD, 1080p screen and enough ports for the time being.

I was looking at the usual, MSI and Asus, dreaming of a Razer and hoping for some sort of flash sale on Amazon, but when I happened to check on the Dell website (actually waiting for the G series to be put up on the UK website) they had a smashing deal of £300 off their laptops equipped with the 7th gen Intel CPUs.

I thought cool but then they had a further 15% off list price - anyway after consulting my colleagues and partner I ended up paying £1330 for a 1070, i7, small SSD + 1TB HDD and that flashy 120Hz TN panel, saving a grand total of £525 off list price, and also about £150 off the cheapest 1070 laptop available from other vendors at the time. AND it has fancy light up stuff!

Bargain? Can't wait to find out. Delivery expected within a fortnight. Apart from games I'll be using it for work in an office environment, but I'm struggling to find a bag that will actually fit it in, and the Alienware bags are far too flashy and cost a fortune (£140?!??!).

Just like to share my bargains.

I bought it on the 18th of April. Was one of their 1 day only sales, very glad I caught it...!

I've noticed they've also got rid of the configuration I bought...
