Hey guys,

I got this Rx460 powercolor red dragon 4gb for a good deal. My issue is when I plug it in, I get a black screen. Then the right fan spins for a few seconds then stops and the left spins for a few seconds stops and then repeats... I installed a fresh install of windows and just put this in my computer and nothing is happening. What do I need to do? Any suggestions?

specs for my pc are...

CPU- A10-6800k

PSU- 600 watt EVGA brand new

MB- F2AB5-M PRO

RAM- 8gb

Sorry, I know this has been asked many times! I just need help with this specific card if that matters

Thanks,

Portz:D

Did you see any proof of it working?

It was not used for mining. The guy said it worked. I got it in a whole computer that supposedly didn’t work. He told me his son went to clean it and it stopped working. I got home and things were just not plugged, after I plugged everything in, it turned on. @That-Something_

Thanks,

Repeated fan spinning means that the motherboard is getting stuck and restarting repeatedly.  Its probably either the GPU or a bug in the motherboard firmware.  Unfortunately there is no way to tell without having another system to test the card in.

Ive had a few boards that refuse to post with specific GPU's installed is why I mention the motherboard angle.  Perhaps try updating the MB firmware?

I agree that its probably broken. (although not guaranteed to be broken...)

If nothing here on the forum solves the issue i suggest contacting powercolor support.

This graphics card is likely still under warranty and could probably get fixed for free if you just pay shipping.

@KarathKasun How would I go about updating my motherboard firmware?

Depends on the board.  OEM systems usually update through Windows (look on your OEM's support website for details) while stand alone motherboards update through the BIOS itself or with the use of a bootable USB stick.
