again, this depends on the USE case. So for most people yes. however the original poster might have different plans. 

 

As a basic guess, i would say a UPS around 1500VA should cover you for a few minutes. Effectively you want to make sure that at max load, you need your UPS to be able to handle it otherwise its just going to trip and not even try to power your device plugged into it. 

 

The longer you want to last the larger UPS you will need, a 1500 VA at load, will probably last you around 5  minutes or so (i think)

What your system specs and devices you plan to have on a UPS it only needs to be large enough for the load your applying.

Eaton have a nice calculator on their site, where you can add more device and specify their pull of power...
