It still does the same job of allowing control of 6 individual fan channels through CAM. 

Depending on your motherboard, you can use the onboard headers and included fan software instead.

im confused. its only fan controller for nzxt only?

can it be used on nzxt rgb fans?

It can be used with any fans that use a standard 2-4pin header and plugs into an internal usb 2.0 header on the motherboard. 

Yes, nzxt rgb fans will be fine but the Grid+ v2 doesn't support pwm and control will be limited to dc. It also doesn't have any rgb control.
