Oh, yeah.  DDR was PS2 era (actually a bit older than that, I think there was a Dreamcast game).  I actually have a bunch of the games and mats to go with my OG PS3 that can play PS2 games.

step mania looks pretty much like ddr except that it runs native on pc and is not actual legit ddr. Does it work good?

Last I played it everything was great.  Most of the legit songs are from the royalty free space though.  You can, however, find step files for pretty much any song you want.  I think there are some song-packs floating around the net that contain ALL of the OG DDR content.  I think there is also a way to rip the content from the OG game disks too.

 

Only downside is the more generic art/background animations, but that was never an issue when playing the game IMHO.

 

Oh, also look around for track packs from a game called "In The Groove".  It was a hardcore DDR alike with great songs and higher difficulty if you were into that kind of thing.
