I know many people asked the question "What's the difference between genuine and pirated windows?",but what actually is the REAL difference? The performance is the same, the features are the same(maybe the Genuine windows have more options or features?),Microsoft supports both pirated and genuine windows(or only the genuine ones?) while they have telemetry enabled. Let's take Steam as example: you can have cracked Steam account, but still it's a bad idea.I had cracked steam counter strike 1.6 and I couldn't play in servers which require STEAM or whatever it was, just I couldn't play on legit servers. What do we lose when we have pirated windows? The performance is the same..almost everything is the same, but still it must have at least a LITTLE bad part. Please, tell at least 1 reason why we should get genuine or why we shouldn't.Atm I have genuine Windows 10 on my other PC (I downloaded it when it was free) and Idk what's the difference between it and the pirated one

1st rule, never admit to pirating anything on forums. It's always your friend who did it. :D

  1. No MS support
  2. If you're talking about unactivated windows, no personalization e.g. background
  3. That's it.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

you mean If I have any problem and I can't ask Microsoft for help? Even when I have some dialog in the Action Center "Troubleshoot unknown problems" and when I click "troubleshoot",it says something like "Unable to connect to Microsoft or something", you mean that, right?

Yeah basically. All troubleshooters will work, but you won't be able to call up MS support complaining that it won't work.

Actually you could, but you'd probably get a fine in your mail after a few days.

you also get a nice text on the bottom right that your windows is not activated.

activate1.PNG?itok=7TGs22Ps

the thing is that this text stays visible in some games.

not a big deal on its own but if you want to stream or record your gameplay to show off to the world - depending on your capture method - this text may get captured along with the game so the whole world knows that you are a pirate
