Hello, I am currently trying to use the 32gb Intel Optane technology and my Gigabyte z370p d3 motherboard will not detect the m.2 stick. I have updated the bios and downloaded the drivers and the m.2 stick is still missing in action. I have tried to find the drive in the command prompt and nothing shows up besides the two 2tb sata hdd I currently have. My current theory is that I am some how using all 16 of my pcie lanes for my gtx 1080 maybe however I am unsure how to change this. I bought everything brand new so I couldn't imagine getting a fault stick from intel. Let me know if you have had the same problem and what fixed it! Also would like to other possible theories of why this would happen!

Thanks in advance!

Your graphics card has nothing to do with this. I believe the reason you are not seeing your Optane drive is that you're using SATA3_0 for one of your SATA drives. Since SATA3_0 shares bandwidth with the M.2 slot M2P_32G, your motherboard may prioritize your SATA drive connected to SATA3_0 over M2P_32G. See page 15 of your motherboard's manual for more information.

I am not currently using the sata3 0 slot because gigabyte told me initially that was the problem.

Make sure you quote or mention me or I might forget to reply. Does your motherboard detect the Optane module within the BIOS? If it does not, try disabling CSM in your BIOS.

There is an Optane guide on installing Optane memory on page 39 of your manual. Did you have any luck with these directions?

I thought that I had. But upon reading this again I noticed something on step 2 of the direction which told me to  set "PCIe Storage Dev on Port 9 to RST Controlled". I will give this a shot when I return home. I will make sure to let you know if this is the case. Thank you so much for the help!
