Hey Guys,
Recently I bought a used Asus Gtx 760 card and started checking it's Performance. After some testing I found that the temp of the card went up to 80° at 90% fan speed and after quitting the game it goes back fastly to 40s or 50s. Ideal temp is 40-50°
So my questions are ..
1) Is my card overheating?
2) Is it normal for the fan to automatically go to 90% fan speed at 80°?

Please note : My case is hp elite 7100mt and it does not have a huge airflow ..

and after further testing, today I found that some games lags after playing for about 30 mins...

today while I was playing NFS payback the game started smoothly and after some time it began to lag here and there ..is this because of CPU bottleneck ? (I have an i3 530 @2.93 GHz ) or is my card failing ? ..plz help...

That sounds very hot indeed. However, how many fans are in that case? is there any exhausts or intakes?

Yours faithfully

My GTX 780 goes to 90% fan speed at 80 degrees, I would consider it normal.

Your CPU is definitely bottlenecking your GPU, if you can get your hands on an i7-820 it should eliminate the bottleneck.

Normally the temp under load is between 70-78...° once hit 80° ..but during these temps the fan speed is at 87% ..is it normal ???

So the lagging of game is due to bottleneck????

Or is it because my gpu is dying ?

Lagging is because your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU.

Kick around Ebay for an i7-820 and that should fix your problem.

You're fine. If you are wondering temperature is causing lag use a free monitoring program (MSI Afterburner) or in game overlay (Rivatuner Statistics). If you can keep that GPU running over 1100 mhz clock while gaming then there is no serious throttling.

Also listen to other members and upgrade & overclock CPU to eliminate bottlenecks.

I would reapply thermal paste.

I had a Windforce 3X and a 2X GTX 760 from Gigabyte, both never went above 80°C under gaming load, even in SLI.

More like add 2 case fans.

one in the front to get in fresh air, and one in the back to exhaust the hot air.
