So, I have a GTX 1070 Ti connected to a 1440p 144hz display, and a 4K 60Hz display. Using a program like wallpaper engine puts a bit of strain on the gpu, and it'll hover around 30-45% usage, and the fans spin up often to compensate for it.

I was just wondering if this is bad in any way, shape or form? I've told myself it's fine for a couple of months, but at this point it's making me uncomfortable. Anyone know the answer? Thanks.

Well, theoretically the heating die and the fans spinning may reduce the lifespan of the card, but honestly the card will probably still last at the very least 5 years before the fan bearings wear out or the GPU die fails.

Some more realistic downsides to worry about are reduced performance in games if the live wallpaper video is still being decoded in the background, and the increased power consumption of your PC since it's using the GPU even on idle

Laptop: ThinkPad T430, 8 GB RAM, 1x120 GB SSD
