Hi everyone,

I have a HP Phoenix pc and the motherboard has failed.

My question is if I buy a new motherboard with the same chipset as the old one will it be compatible? I'll include the specs below.

i7 4770

GTX 1060 3gb (originally GT 640)

8gb DDR3

600w psu

To be replaced mobo:

HP 2AF3

LGA 1150

Intel z87

I cannot find the same mobo to purchase so will another z87 mobo suffice?

Thanks

Yes, if its the same chipset and socket, it will work just fine.

But remember that you will have to install new windows too.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus TUF Gaming B650-Plus / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Zotac RTX 5090 SOLID OC/ x2 WD_BLACK NS770 2TBs/ Corsair HX1000i/ NZXT H5 Flow
