As long as it has some decent thermal compound? Good few years. Unless your PC won't be upgraded for a decade chances are it won't break. There isn't a "age line" as it may be but they tend to wear out faster w/out good thermals rather than because of an overclock

would the GPU become gradually unstable with initially stable overclocks?

Nope. your only potential problem is the chance of degrading thermal compound - something that is easily fixed by opening it up, slapping more goop on and calling it a day. I.E - the GPU won't degrade noticeably faster but the compound might

Won’t make any difference. Maybe at 10 years but that shouldn’t be a concern anyway.
