So I know I am far away from actually making a game for the switch but want to fully dive in. I am in college for computer science and currently mostly doing my generals. I want to start learning c# and unity so I can progress towards making a game. I really like Linux and would love to be able to use it as my main operating system. I know theres a experimental version of unity for linux does anyone know how stable it currently is? I want to use unity since its the best in terms of support from Nintendo. I will develop some mobile games first while im learning but don't want to switch engines when i start my main project. in short how well does unity work on Linux and does anyone see my using debian for game development as a bad thing. Thank you (opinions are welcomed) Edit If it doesn't work then ill make my pc a hackintosh and use mac but thats only it it really doesn't work.

Eh.... unity doesn’t work on linux unless you use wine. Try using unreal engine, which uses C++ for Linux game development. It is free to students if you can produce an edu email address I think. Normally, it is hundreds of dollars for a license. You can also use it to build graphical 3d games on mobile.

you sure about a hackingtosh? It is usually more time consuming to build a hackitosh and to trouble shoot its problems than simply learning Linux.
