Premiere and After Effects rendering

So, I've been editing and messing with After Effects 3D stuff for transition videos, logo animations and other cool things.

But it's excruciating because the render times, OMG.

Now, looking at CPU and GPU usage, they're low so I'm guessing it's a storage issue.

I have a hard drive, a few SSDs and one NVMe SSD in here.

So I just need some help figuring out how to set it up so everything is in the right place to take advantage of it.

Like is it just having the project file in the fastest one or...?
The software is all installed and running off the NVMe.
I want to like, get it to do everything temporary (like editing and rendering) on one of the SSDs and then dump the finished stuff in the hard drive, obviously.

Help?

What version are you using? I'm no expert, but it looks like the latest version of AE doesn't support multiple cores or GPU for rendering, which would probably explain the long render times.

They're all 2018 CC versions.

have you enabled mercury engine for hardware rendering?

Make sure Cuda is detected for your 1080ti.

Software rendering is painstakingly slow especially with 3d effects.

You have a very good system, it shouldn't be a problem using AE.

I did, yes. Cuda is detected. I'll double check but... Ugh this is insane, I can't do one little camera rotate without having to sit and wait like 5 minutes...

Maybe a bug in the software.

I use to have some bug when using cuda which forced me to software render.

But its somehow gone after complete reinstall and driver updates.

Guys I'm dying here.

I double checked everything to make sure all the settings are the way they should be:

 

- Cache is set to happen in my NVMe SSD
- Dragged the slider all the way up for allowing AE to use as much of my RAM and GPU memory as possible (I have 32MB of RAM and my GPU has 11gb, it's a 1080Ti)

 

 I'm trying to render this thing, which is a less than 3 seconds 3D extruded rotation and zoom of a logo, with 4 light sources around it.

My system is linked above, I'm finding it ludicrous that it's taking FOREVER to render this, and I even have it set to display at 25% zoom and only render 1 every 16 pixels!
What is happening!?!?!?

What render engine are you using for After Effects, I noticed significant drop in render times using Cinema 4D vs Ray Traced 3D
