i was trying to keep it simple the guy didnt know why we called it a mobo so i figured id show him what they meant when we use them. I know what they literally mean

What the does GTX stand for?

GTX actually is GT which means grand turismo and X is just there for NVidia to denote which is better than the other.

I just started thinking about all the tech acronyms. I'm realizing there I so many that I just say and don't know what they mean. 

 

I don't think about some even having a meaning. Reply if you know any that you think people might not know. 

 

I think everyone knows what CPU and GPU stands for so... don't post that...

From what I know, ASUS and Pegatron used to be one company under the name of  "Pegasus". Then they split, the "Peg" became Pegatron and the "asus" became ASUS I guess.

This is so true. Pretty sure you just made up "split horizon protocol" though. Anyway not only are there a ton of abbreviations and acronyms in networking, Cisco and other vendors makes a ton of their own as well, which nobody else use.
