Hello,

I need help with choosing my DPI. I have been using 7200 DPI for almost 8 months now. I thought I would want this because my mouse would have more dots per inch to move too I guess. Most people I talk to though play with a low DPI and I do not know what to choose. I play games like fortnite an siege so I need to have precise aim. I am also a really low sensitivity gamer too if that matters.

Thanks,

Ham

This is going to sound stupid, but buy a mouse where you can change DPI on the fly. My Corsair Glaive does that. For quick runs where I need to maneuver, the high DPI is great, when I’m aiming going down on the DPI allows a more accurate shot.

AMD Ryzen 3950x under a Noctua D15S, 32 Gb G Skill FlareX 3200 DDR4 running at 3200 CL14, Gigabyte Aorus Pro 570 Wifi, Gigabyte 2070 Super hooked to a Dell U2718Q 4k HDR monitor & an Acer 1440p 144hz IPS panel of some kind, an Inland 1 TB M.2 PCIE 4 main drive, a Samsung NVME M.2 250Gb, WD Blue 500Gb  and 1 TB SSDs, Corsair RMX750, Rainbows and butterflies...

7200 dpi is toooooo fast for fps.

For fps game, the lower the better. Ideally u should use 400-800 or 1200 max.

I went from 1200 to 400 and it improved my aim

(Sorry, couldn't resist. Don't take it the hard way :P)

Comes down to personal preferance, mostly. If you feel that you can still do very fine adjustments with a high sensitivity and that works for you, great. Otherwise, lower your sensitivity.

Personally, I'd go mad at 400dpi and 'd need to crank up sensitivity ingame to a high value, ruining the increased accuracy gained by the lower resolution.

Its really just up to you, its your opinion, i use 2750dpi for siege and 4/4/50 at 0.02 multiplier, Im a semi-pro in siege so its not like my choice is bad. (Im also the main-fragger in my team)

Higher DPI with lower sensitivity has been proven to be more smoother.

Low DPI and low sensitivity makes the movement somewhat jagged.

But that's probably barely noticeable since most professional gamers use low DPI and low sensitivity without a problem.

One thing to note is that at very high DPI, the sensor will start to interpolate stuff. That isn't good if you want 1:1 mouse movement.

I'd suggest going around 1600 DPI or lower if you want. Just simply raise your in-game sensitivity.

From my experience with most games, 1600 may be too high. Many games I've played (single player ones) were way too sensitive even at the lowest in-game setting.
