Okay, so I just got a cooler master psu, and the latch on the 24 pin connector is broken off, does it secure the cable enough without it or do I need to send it back? I am building my first pc component by component, and there doesn't seem t be any videos on this problem.

Yeah..  That's why some connector companies, even if their factory is in China, refuse to use Chinese plastic.  It's very brittle.

 

Not sure what Cooler Master PSU you have, but I'm guessing it's not something like a V Series.  Probably something on the low end?

Its a master watt 650 semi modular
