simple question, I got rid of my LG gram around a month ago because i figured i didnt need a laptop, now it is becoming apparent that i need one again, my gram had a dual core in it last gens i7 7500U, i like the new gram but change is nice so i was curious, is there any thin and lights with AMD's R5 APU that is comparable to the gram in terms of portability while costing less than a new gram with an 8th gen i5

So far there are only 3 Ryzen APU laptops, namely Acer Swift 3, Lenovo Ideapad 720S 13 and HP Envy x360. They are thin and light laptops but not as light as the Gram. Also, they still need optimizations since Ryzen mobile platform hasn't mature. Issues like poor battery life and inconsistent CPU performance needs to be fixed by firmware updates.

If you want a laptop with Kaby Lake Refresh CPU, make sure it has good cooling for further tuning.

Desktop specs:

Why do you need an AMD APU?

Try to get a Xiao Mi Notebook with 8th gen i5/i7 and MX150. Costs from $650 for the 13" to about $800 for the 15"

Daily Driver: Redmi Book Pro 14 - Core Ultra 7 155H | 32GB/1TB

Primary Desktop: NCase M1 - Ryzen 7 7800X3D/RX 6950XT | 32GB/2TB

Travel PC: Fractal Terra - Ryzen 7 5800X/RTX 3060 Ti | 16GB/1TB

I have too many computers. List here.
