hello all! i have recently saved up some money to get a new computer. my old one died and im not sure what killed it or why so i just tossed it to the side and used my gaming laptop because it works the same,

i wanted to get a new build anyway as mine was a FX series i built years ago, it has a gtx 980 but idk if it works or not. so i have the monitors and keyboard and mouse i just need the computer. i dont really want to re use anything it looked ugly. i have 2300 i can spend.  i can use the same drives though a hhd and ssd it has i think they are working im in the UK

The first thing I would do is sysprep your drives so they'll work with your new system. Then, make sure your GTX 980 works as that will save you a lot with the current GPU market. After that, you could probably get a Ryzen 5 1600 with a good B350 motherboard and 16Gb RAM. For cases and PSUs, I like the NZXT S340 and Corsair CX550M.

i currently have no way to test them unless I can go to a store or someplace that can test them for me.

Give that a try, if at least your GPU works, you can save quite a bit.
