Hi everyone, first topic I ever do anywhere, anyhow so sorry in advanced if I miss some etiquette.

I bought an "HP Spectre x360 13-ae005no" togheter with a Hp omen accelerator in the hope, in the dream of, getting an good ultra book with the possibility of playing games in that sexy full hd 100+ fps, and throw my old big ass computer in the dumpster. The dream was real, I got the computer and it was amazing, truly was. Good display, fast, and so light, 1,2 kilogram, hit me right in the heart...

Then it came, the accelerator. In with my gtx 1070, plug it in. DUN DUN, it sounded when I connected it (after I followed the HP guide on how to install with all its drives/frimwares). sounds like it's connected at least. Yes it is, as a USB 2.0. So I troubleshoot it, and it says "hey this is old af, this is 1.0 usb" my computer said. Nothing worked, so I searched the google, I even went to page 2 *yikes. And WOOOOOW, I was relieved. Someone had the same problem as me. With an solution, the accelerator needs an sweet af update. WOOOHOOOO, I yelled like an 12year computer enthusiast. Just need to get an computer who can work with the accelerator. Wohoooo I work in the biggest electronics chain in Europe, I can do this. I just have to borrow a computer and return it after I installed the firmware..

Home I went with an Lenovo Yoga 720 who worked perfectly (after som tries with other computers). Now with the hope to fix this I installed all the drivers on the web, then I was suppose to install the drivare/firmware (sp85343.exe) for the accelerator to get it working with my HP computer.. "The file could not install correctly, please try again or contact HP support".

Hm I am a independent mtf computer genius, I always thought. But now, I've tried for two days to make it work with no prevail. So I swallowed my pride and contacted them. Two hours with messenger it took for them to understand the problem, they asked me to install the updates I already had, they asked me to do the guide as I already had (said in the beginning I needed help to install updates on the accelerator and tried every driver known to man). Then they recommended me to call them. 1 dollar/minute, well what to do, just call them can't take that much time.

After I answered "how can I help you" I said to install software on my accelerator, they did not know what that was and connected me forward. Next person asked med about what cable I used and how I old I was... Then connected me forward to another one who was expert, who didn't know what I was talking about, instead to figure out what computer I used by how much it weighed and where my port as. After about 5 minutes he had an answer! YES (30min call x 1 dollar minute, I had an answer)! He said they're not compatible. I told him I knew that but it just needed an firmware,he said no. I asked him; "So the ae005no are never going to be able to use the accelerator?" "YES!". Ok bye..

Went back to their messenger page and asked if he was right or the forum who said i worked with firmware update on the machine. He sent me a link to their chat and told me they could help.

Now we are up to date to real life, got disconnected after the chat support tried to take control of my computer, did not work (I'm on an public ip adress cause my isp can't provide me with an real ip). He said no worry, I will connect to you again, I said how? He said no worry give me phone number. I knew he wouldn't be able to connect again. But did what he asket.

Restarted got to the chat again, got a new supporter, nero - ask what he can help me with. I tell the story, he redirect me, lost contact got another one. Ask me what he can do, I tell him. He asks where I got the computer, I send link to sweden hp, he says I need to contact sweden for help. After 3 days support from usa they say I must contact sweden support. Got dissed for real now.

Tried chat again... "Is or is the ae005no compatible with the accelerator or not?" I am not sure contact the Swedish support, "how would the know if you do not?" cause they're Swedish support.

TLDR;

Someone has an solution to this? Connecting an ae005no to an hp omen accelerator? The computer think it's usb not an thunderbolt, Lenovo yoga 720 works fine with it.
