Here is the setup:

i7-7820x

Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32gb 3200MHz DRAM (RGB)

EVGA 1080ti SC2 Hybrid

Samsung Pro M.2 SSD

Corsair RM1000x PSU

MSI X299 Gaming Pro Carbon AC Motherboard

So, the issue's I'm having are, most likely, because this is my first computer build, ever.

That being said, I'm disappointed with the performance of this setup for the few games we play, Overwatch, PUBG, Destiny 2, and Ghost Recon Wildlands.

The first issue I have is that the DRAM frequency is only 2133MHz, that's at the stock 1.2000 DRAM CHA/B/C/D Voltage. I really don't know how far to push the overclock on the DRAM, so any advice is welcome.

The GPU is being overclocked using EVGA's PrecisionX software and according to them, we can push the voltage 100%, which I am, and +72MHz GPU clock offset and +252MHz Mem clock offset.

So, we are constantly getting these little bugs that affect the ram more than the GPU. I can tell when it gets all screwy because the color scheme on the ram turns to a solid color not chosen in the scheme on purpose to let me know when it does that. And when that happens, I check the ram and it's running at 1333MHz with two or more ram sticks not really working. Are my problems because of the motherboard I've chosen or just an unfortunate circumstance of this combination?

Also, as far as the games are concerned, Overwatch on NVIDIA's "optimized" setting gets MAYBE 110FPS(Usually 60 though), Ghost Recon about 75fps, and PUBG is terrible, around 60FPS.

Thank you so much in advance for any help!

For the first issue, just set your RAM to run with X.M.P. settings in the BIOS. This will have it run at the full 3200MHz. For Ghost Recon: Wildlands, it's a tough game to run for sure. I play it on a 7700K and 1080 and at High settings, I'm getting sub-60 to 100FPS. For PUBG this is going to sound silly, but is VSync on? I don't know exactly what the NVIDIA optimized settings do for that. I'd recommend running a benchmark (3DMark Fire Strike/Ultra/Extreme is a good choice for DX11) and comparing scores to other similar systems to make sure nothing buggy is going on here.

hey, thanks for the quick reply SLSAMG. I set the xmp boost on, and it looks like it's recognizing max freq at 3199MHz, so awesome!!

well, for wildlands, yeah, that game is ridiculous on the gpu. for pubg, i definitely have v-sync off, definitely don't want that. and for pubg, i have custom settings, so lots of the features are on low. on benchmark, my system runs phenomenal. but in real life gameplay, that's when things get stupid for me :(  let's see, settings are ultra for anti-aliasing and view distance, medium for post processing and shadows, and low on textures and effects, and very low for foliage.

actually, now i'm getting 130fps after oc'ing the cpu and the ram at 3200MHz
