AURA SYNC

So I'm building my second PC ever and I already have my motherboard picked out. I'm going with a Maximus X Hero (Wireless AC). My question is can I buy any type of RGB lighting strip I want or does ASUS only support certain brands for AURA SYNC. I guess what I want to know is can I use cablemod RGB light strips and have AURA SYNC work on them

CableMod and Phanteks LED strips are both Aura compatible.
