Hey guys. Quick question.

I recently upgraded my editing system (to change with the times)

Can you look this over and let me know if everything looks okay? I am having system issues. Sluggish, not acting like 16core and graphics like opening windows are clippy. (choppy)

I was considering upgrading my ram to Gskill Trident 3200mhz.

AsRock x399 Tachi -  MB

AMD 1950x Threadripper (16c)

GTX 980 (GPU)

32GB (4x8GB) 2400mhz Corsair Vengance RAM

Samsung 500GB SSD

In my estimation, this system should be BLAZING FAST. I don't recognize any speed differences and I USED to have

ASUS x99 MB

Intel i7 6-core

GTX 980

32GB (same ram)

Is there something i'm missing here?

It's almost as if the hardware doesn't play nicely with each other.

RAM is overclocked and CPU is at 4GHZ

Thanks guys.

How many background process do you have? If you have many programs open even on high-end systems can get bogged down by just junk running. Try checking your startup apps. On Win10 Goto task manager then click the "Startup" Tab. Then Highlight what you want to get rid of and click disable on the bottom, that could fix your problem.

Why Are We Still Here? Just to Suffer?

Thanks MaseeGames. The system doesnt have anything blocking it on startup. I checked that and disabled pretty much everything.

No problem. Have you re-installed all of your drivers for the new parts? That could be messing with the new processor.  If so, did you delete the old drivers? That could also be a problem.

Fresh copy of windows and all drivers are up to date. Not sure what's wrong. Thanks for following up.

No, problem. Try checking your BIOS to make sure the RAM is in Multi-channel mode. Maybe check to see if Hyper-Threading is enabled? I'm unfortunately running out of ideas...
