running 2 devices over OBDII port in car

fastcar123

For anyone that knows about can-bus and OBDII in modern vehicles, Hello!

I am trying to find a way to connect a gauge system and a tuner chip to my car. I had this on my old car but the the chip tuner just used some wire taps to use the OBDII port. This left it open to plug in my ultragauge.

But now both the ultragauge and the chip tuner have the male OBDII port on them.

How can I run these both at the same time?

You can try a Y split cable but I've seen that hit and miss, depending on what's being connected.

You may end up with data collision issues though.

Yea that's what I've read. I was thinking of buying a splitter on Amazon but a good bit of people are saying that only one device works.

Is there a powered splitter or something like a USB hub but for OBDII? I couldn't find such a device myself but I also would not know what that's called to enter into a search bar.
