maybe an ssd for a boot drive or a 1TB hdd for storage, gpu prices suck now so stick to the 660.

The 3470 is still pretty decent as a now sort of run of the mill quadcore, 8gb of ram is still fine if youre not a heavy multitasker. I suggest upgrading the GPU to something a bit newer you can get for cheap, you should have no problems with a 780ti or 970 with the i5, both of those can be found pretty cheap now.

Probably time for storage upgrade unless you really dont need the space. I get away with a 120gb SSD for most of my needs so i can understand not having a larger HDD if you wont use it. Look into getting an SSD for your OS and common programs though, decent speed benefit over a mechanical drive.

Move up to a 1080p monitor as well after the GPU upgrade.

After all that you move into the territory where its just a better option to build a whole new PC.

tl;dr 780ti, SSD, 1080p monitor

need help on what to upgrade first ?

Specs
I5 3470
B75 MOBO
8GB DDR3
250GB HDD
GTX 660
768P MONITOR

i can still play the games i want pretty well

The GTX 750Ti, if its not crazy expensive would be a nice upgrade to your current setup. I would just compare it to 1030 prices first. The GTX 750 Ti performs faster but in some countries, second-hand parts like the 750 Ti can be hard to come by (like China) or easy (like the U.S.).

If you only have one DIMM of Ram, you can see an increase in performance by adding a second for dual channel.  Not a drastic increase, but something.
