BM 800 Condensor Microphone

I bought a condensor microphone (BM800) and have it plugged into my 3.5 microphone jack. When I go to record audio and play it back, the playback sound is awful. Like not just cheap quality; it's disorted, quiet and almost seems to cut in and out.

 

I have tried recording on two seperate computers (both running windows 10) using different programs (Ableton, Audacity, Power Sound Editor) and the playback is all the same distorted unusable audio. 

 

I do not have an audio interface currently, but I am using a phantom power supply. Everything is connected how it should be. 

 

The weirdest part is on my laptop, when I plug the mic into the mic slot, I can hear the sound the mic is receiving through my headphones! And it sounds great, nothing like the distorted weirdness when I try to record.

 

What the heck am I doing wrong? Besides buying such a cheap mic.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you have to manually set the recording device and then create tracks to record onto.

How? I open "recording devices" on my desktop and there is only one mic option available and it is enabled.

in the software you have to set in, it varies from each software.
