Ever since I installed my new AMD Athlon X4 880k CPU, I have been getting the Kernel Security Check Failure BSOD. At first, it appeared once every 2 days. Then, once every day, twice every day, and so forth. About a month after this BSOD started appearing, I am getting this error 3-6 times every single day. I have no clue what is causing this error and all solutions that I have looked up for this error have not worked. A solution would be appreciated. Thanks, Landon

Specs:

OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 880k

RAM: 8GB Dual Channel DDR3

Motherboard: Gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2

GPU: GTX 750 Ti

Hmm, it may help to reinstall. I've had Windows do odd things like that and a reinstallation helped.

Sadly, I don't have a big portable hard drive to store all of my Windows files on, so I don't know what to do

What do you mean your Windows files on?

I would need to download a copy of my windows files for when I reinstall windows. I would need a big portable hard drive for my 600 GB of files but I don't have one.

Can you not get a 2tb ext-hdd for $100 off Amazon? You should be backing up stuff anyway

Spoiler

Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.
