Im getting square artifacts on my screen when gaming. Doesn't matter the game. Rainbow Six, Elder Scrolls Online, Valley benchmark, Firestrike....

No overclock. Reinstalled drivers.

I have x2 RX 480 8Gb. About ready to pull one or and go individual to check for the same issue.

Think it's hardware or software? I'm feeling hardware at this point

Also, if I have to RMA... Um.. will MSI have any extras to replace this one? You know, they while mining thing. How will this work?

Could be temps, power or a driver fault.

Can you try 1 card only, then the other card only? Do the artefacts stay with each and both cards?

I'm actually at a loss. Originally, ONLY able to get consistent artifacts on ESO, Unigine Valley, RS Siege, Firestrike, and even Assassins Creed Origins and Doom. Temps were fine, never exceeded 60 on GPU. Used DDU, reinstalled drivers, still had issues. Was able to take out my GPU's one at a time, and was able to replicate with one GPU.

Issue was worse with stock voltage, but would go away with GPU OC.

...

Well, I wasn't able to remote into work, so I decided to install my AIO. Got that installed, cleaned up everything. Took some time to rewire everything for maximum cleanliness... And now I cannot get any of it to reproduce again.. Nothing. So.. Now I'm at a loss. Do I just sit around and see if it happens again?

Examples of my initial issue:

ESO looks like tie fighters in the background....

It would generally be the same pattern, just in other places of the screen as well. Made no sense.

I would get distorted white artifacts in Rainbow Six, but only in the sky.

Everything would disappear initially if I turned off shadowing and AA. Which looks kinda like garbage. But now, I can max everything out and have no issues. I've even gone back to CF enabled and I can't replicate.....

Googling on graphics cards (and a one off experience I had with GTX570s), sometimes it's driver issues, sometimes RAM/Power/voltage style problems.

So hopefully if it was power, it was just a loose cable? If it was drivers, it's now upgraded sorted? Glad it's no longer artefacting anyhow.

Just keep an eye on voltage and vram, as sometimes when they go, cards will give lots of artefacts.
