How Loud Should A Closed Loop Pump Be?

Go to solution Solved by Imabigmac,

on the rear of the case, I have to mount it with the tubes at the top of the rad as there's no room for the tubes at the bottom, could that be an impact?

if the noise is in fact air then yes.

I've got a H55, and I can hear little like clicking noises coming from it, it's not very loud really, but I was wondering how loud genuinely you should expect it to be?

They aren't quiet by any means, but a clicking noise from pump may be a bad thing. Although the noise could be from the fan.

That's weird. It could air could also be a bad pump. How it's rad mounted?

Same cooler, same noise. Even with the pump full on in the BIOS, meaning "no auto", disabled cpu fan control, it still would do it at the beginning. It went away if I leaned the case over. When mounted on the top I would get no noise, but on the rear it would click. I personally believe it was trapped air. Try the leaning method.

Any air in the system will be at the top of the rad. Not good to have the hoses at the top. Go for sides if possible. Bottom is preferred.

ye the case is a define mini, and it has that side mounted extension panel for the fan controller which stops me from mounting it with the hoses at the bottom, and there's not enough clearance at the top, clashes with cpu 8pin, atleast I know what it is now :)
