Hello there,

I've got gmod for quite a while now but haven't really played it. Some of my friends started playing now and they are able to just join a server and play, while I never get the chance to play.

There's always something wrong. One time there are maps missing from cs (although I do have cs go and my friends don't have any cs and they can play fine), the other time everything is just pink and black with huge "errors" standing everywhere...

If anyone knows how to fix it, that'd be awesome :)

Thanks!

You can easily google the texture missing error there is a site that has the assets and textures for all the source games and you can out those in the good folder to fix the issue

You need CSS files, but you can find content packs online that fixes all of those problems. It even says on the store page that you need these games in order to play. Gladly it has been made easy for those who don't have the games.

Now I've installed those packs, gmod still thinks I shouldn't play so now server don't show up and whenever I try to start a single player map, it goes to the main menu without doing anything.

A friend of mine didn't have CS but downloaded the textures from somewhere to avoid the errors when joining a game.

Did you enable them? I think you do it from the bottom right corner.

I got a pack from the workshop. I also see the maps in the single player selection screen, so I think that's fine. I just get a white screen instead of a server choice thing and can't start single player maps.
