I have been looking on ebay for cheap older components to build a portable gaming PC, and when i search LGA775 motherboards i see OEM ones from manufacturers like dell and they dont look too bad... so i have a few questions

Will they work for most/all LGA775 CPUs after a bios update

Can i use a intel stock cooler, or do i have to use a cooler from the OEM

Link this is what im looking at BTW

Some require oem coolers. Just check and make sure.

check to make sure that they have standard mounting holes too sometimes you get ones that have extra holes or some in the wrong place

Most have the standard 775 mounting check the manufacturers website for specs. you wan't to make sure the boards supports core 2 cpus though because there are a lot of 775 boards that only support pentium 4 and Ds. the last thing you need to look out for is front panel connectors, a lot of oem boards have non standard front io connectors. in the worst case scenario you'll have to do some splicing.
