rocket league online joining problem ?????

i am trying to play rocket league with my friends 

he invites me i click on it i see his car then he creates a private match on top i can see searching than joining and he is in the game but i am not

then i tried on my own online it was searching and after some time joining come and then connection time-out comes 

plz help i just want to play with my friends!!!!!

Did you install the latest update (came out yesterday evening)? Otherwise you won't be able to connect.
