Asus Notebook RAM Scam?

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

The other stick is likely soldered to the motherboard.

Hello there!

I recently replaced the stock thermal compound of my Asus F555UB-XO043T with some Arctic MX-4.

And for that I had to take apart the whole notebook. So I found one RAM slot on the motherboard instead of the two that Windows tells me. And also, there is just one 4GB stick of Samsung memory in it. Strange thing Windows shows 8GB and also Asus claims 8GB.

I am confused, IDK why a big company like Asus would scam people.

I bought the notebook on Amazon two years ago from the official Amazon seller so it wasn't some dude on Amazon scamming me.

Does anyone have similar experiences or thoughts?

Let me know!

As said it's 4GB is directly soldered to the board.
