Did you have any trouble mixing Intel CPU with AMD graphics? I may mix AMD cpu with Intel graphics but dont know if it is a good idea :S

Mixing the AMD CPU with an Nvidia GPU wouldn't have trouble (from my experience), and instead of buying the 670 you should buy a 770 as it performs better and is less expensive. Also upgrading your RAM would help with your system all around and 16gb is becoming more of the standard.

Hi all,

I am new to this forum but been a linus follower since a while :D just wanted to show off my rig (wich i love hehe), I first built it 7 years ago and still runs ok for my usage.

Also, wanted to know some suggestion to upgrade or so, because the graphics card is a little old (7 years hehe) and its not fully capable for 2018's tasks and programs.

Also, there has been a little problem since I ever built it, which after a while running (playing games or 3D modelling) the screen just freezes and a buzzing sound comes out from the speakers. It is certainly annoying because I cant play without thinking that in some time, the pc will just freeze... I think its the Graphics card as it is the only device I havent touch of the whole system.

So, here are the rig specs :) hope you can help me out... I am trying to buy a nvidia gtx670 for upgrade as the games i play are mostly old and some emulators.

CPU FX-6100 @ 3.3GHz, Stock Cooler

RAM Patriot G2 Series 2x4GB@1333MHz

MOBO MSI 7641GM-P23

GRAPHICS ATI RADEON HD5770 1GBDDR5

PSU COOLER MASTER 500W 80 Plus

SSD 400GB O.Z. DENEVA SATA II

OS Windows 7 Home Premium (Linux Mint with GRUB)

ODD LiteOn DVD/CD Reader/Writer SATA

CASE Cooler Master ELITE 430

(Will be adding photos soon )

Nope. I would've gone all AyyMD, but Ryzen wasn't a thing when I was building my PC, and AyyMD GPUs were affected by miners.

Wow thats true! :D I will see what I can get from eBay or so haha but 770 sounds good. Also, I may upgrade RAM in short term in the future but may change my MOBO at the same time. The one I have only has 2 memory slots... :/
