Bought a used motherboard off ebay. Yes used the guy said nothing is wrong with it. Before I message him I wanted to know if there's anything I can do to fix this problem:

When I boot into bios, everything is fine.

Boot into windows 10 and it works perfectly fine for about a minute or 2 then freezes. The only way out is to pull the plug.

I've gone from a  Asus H110I-Plus to a Asus Z170I-PRO-GAMING Mobo. Any ideas?

Specs:

i5 6500

450W PSU

SanDisk Ultra ssd

Seagate 2.5inch barracuda hard drive

GTX 970 (The problem persists with or without it)

I've attempted to reset Windows, reinstall but keep my files, but it froze at 19%.

The last thing is that my old mobo had a single 4pin atx power connector, this new mobo has a 2next to each other - but only one of the two ends of the designate power cables fit. So that's one other anomaly.

Any help appreciated.

Edit: At times it would take a few minutes before it froze, so i managed to reinstall windows - this didn't fix anything. So every time i turn on my PC, logged in, i'd attempt to download driver booster (which i had before), racing against time to get it done. Then one by one, i updated any outdated drives which included ethernet, display, and sound drivers. Updated them all. Sadly the issue still persisted. I reset the bios to default. Turned it on a few times. But no luck.

I then looked at the compatible RAM and QVL (Qualified Vendors List) for the motherboard, and the lowest frequency RAM stated was 2133MHz. I had 2133MHz RAM, but that's advertised speeds. So what if because XMP was turned off, everything was set to auto, it made the RAM incompatible. That's why it froze after a minute? Because it took that long for the RAM to get piled up data, then crash?

No, did you use a Windows installation that had been used on another computer?

That doesn't say anything. Did you originally install Windows from another computer and move the hard drive/SSD?
