I have recently purchased an SSD and would like to run a clean Windows 10 install on it. For the most part, the installer works: I boot off my USB, choose my SSD, partition it, etc. However, once the installer is done downloading updates, and restarts, my SSD doesn't boot. Obviously I first thought, "Oh, I forgot to unplug my flash drive!" Unfortunately, I quickly realized that the SSD doesn't boot at all. It doesn't matter what SATA port I plug it in, whether I use Legacy or UEFI, and so forth. If I had to guess I'd say that the installer just doesn't work; unfortunately, I don't know how to find others, and I'm too impatient to wait for Microsoft to release a new one without being certain. My SATA mode is in AHCI, and my SSD is the only drive apart from the installation media attached to the computer at the time of installation. If there's anything I'm doing wrong, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks in advance.

Is it booting to your old drive? You may need to set the ssd as the primary boot partition in bios?

If I use words like probably or most likely, it is because I dislike certainty. These words can probably be omitted and the sentence read as a certainty.

The computer won't boot at all if only the SSD is plugged in. I haven't wiped my HDD so it still boots, but I didn't plug it in when I installed Windows to my SSD. From what I understand the SSD and HDD are seen in the same light in BIOS, so if the HDD will boot the SSD should too. Also I've tried booting it in multiple computers, so I'm pretty certain the SSD just doesn't boot.
