I have strange issues trying to install things my new build. I installed windows 10 pro, then did all the drivers off the MSI website. The OS and drivers install fine. Then the problems start when I try to install many other things. Sophos anti-virus won't install, it says it can't connect sometimes when it fails or it just says install failed, it did install one time and it would never actually turn it, just said components were missing. When I install office 2016, all the office applications work fine except for Outlook which works up to the point when you sign in and then it just crashes. GoToMeeting crashes, adobe acrobat pro crashes. There is nothing really consistent about the errors that appear when the applications fail, sometimes it something like 'powershell failed to start', or something like it can't connect. I've tried doing things with the windows firewall off, I've wiped the computer twice, I've even tried a new samsung NVME ssd and it still has the issue. I am leaning towards something wrong with the built in LAN on the motherboard?  There never seems to be any internet issues though, it never cuts out that I can see, YouTube runs fine (ive let it run for over an hour to see if it dropped connection but never did, any kind of browsing works.   I am not sure what else to do, maybe try a pci network card?

Maybe your installation media is corrupted?

Download the media creation tool from microsoft and create a fresh, new USB stick to install windows with.

Just a shot in the dark.

Hold up.

Do these issues start before trying to install that anti-virus or any of the drivers?

If it's fine beforehand, think about where the problems start to occur.

Maybe one of these drivers or programs has a compatibility issue with windows 10.

It wouldn't be a motherboard driver or any of that since everything in your system is new, but are you installing drivers for anything else that may cause a problem?

o.0 bad ram or SSd?

Is the SSd new or from an older build?

Same question for the RAM

This does sound alot like installations getting corrupted to me,

It gets farther sometimes and sometimes it just doesn't work with the installs right?

Im guessing if you run the office repair tools, it will attempt to fix the issue, but it wont actually fix it.

I had an ssd in one of my personal computers, that would install windows and get so far, drivers etc no real issues.

But as I started loading heavier apps, such as office, steam, etc, it would just start corrupting things at random.

Things would fail to install etc.

Alot of the things that did install before that point, worked fine for the most part, but anything new would start going to hell real quick.
I reinstalled windows several times, swapped ram with spares I have.

Was at a loss, Until i just did the math, New ssd, new problems..

The ssd seemed fine, samsung software said all was good.

But that drive was all types of screwed up and created new problems I never encountered, and it was basically brand new.

you can attempt to install windows on a spare drive you have laying around, see if the same issues occur.

This is a good point,

And you can also try installing things in a different order to see if the results change.

Such as, install the av first thing, before the drivers and all (assuming you can), see if the av works now.

Your going to need to rule things out in this situation, which might be kind of tricky, but you need to think outside the box on this one.
