Don't really remember when this started but I turned on my laptop and it instantly gets the HDD maxed. Loading into windows 10 takes up to 30 minutes then after entering windows just to execute any action can take up to 5 minutes like pressing the start menu. Have no idea what is causing this because nothing is open. Anyone know if there is a fix?

also first I would recommend some patience, download software called Hard Disk Sentinel [download it and turn internet off so windows will not try to download updates] and install it and check if hard drive is not failing. [also possible to check it just by ear, put your ear onto laptop next to touch pad and listen to repeating sounds].

Windows 10 doesn't like HDD. Happened to me before.

Upgrading to SSD probably the best option, if you don't have the budget then try clean install Windows, defrag and disable unnecessary background services.

If you are looking for a alternative for Windows 10, Windows 7 is a great alternative. But, If you are a Internet Browser, want to just watch YouTube and play LIGHTWEIGHT games, here you go. It's on sale, so if you REALLY want a SSD, buy now.
