So, i have searched the internet for up to date tutorials for installing ZFS and setting up a storage pool, but everybody seems to be doing different things,

as some just install one package, punch in one command are ready to go and others pack together some packages install a whole bunch more and even modify some system files.

I have tried some of those tutorials which led to not being able to complete the download process of packages to not being able to see the zfs pool after a reboot.

And with that i am turning myself to you, loyal forum members!

The current set up on which intent to use ZFS:

Ryzen 7 1700

Asus Prime X399

16GB ECC unbuffered DDR4 (1 Stick)

GTX 660

250GB SanDisk Plus (boot drive with ubuntu 16.04 LTS)

3x 4TB Seagate IronWolf (the ZFS array)

What features i intend to use with ZFS:

-RAID Z1 (~RAID5) with protection against bit-rot

-create ONE pool, consisting of the 3 4TB drives

-being able to add more drives in the future (which is relatively easy as far as I'm concernced)

If you can provide a turorial which DOES indeed work I would kindly ask you to help me out xD
