I have an issue where if I use the onboard audio, it marks as an x and if I use the NVidia audio from the graphics card with an hdmi cable, it wants to play. Is there a way where I can go into device manager or something like that and uninstall/disable the built in sound on my gtx 960 so I could use my onboard audio with the jacks?

Thanks,

(EDIT) also, when I install realtek drivers they don't show up in device manager, I think NVidia and realtek audio drivers are fighting or something lmao

Thanks,

you will have to explain that a little better, but sounds like it has nothing to do with your graphics card. You should (re)install the audio driver of your motherboard.

Marks as an x...? As in never works or just when the hdmi is plugged in? If it never works there might be a driver issue. Does it show up in playback devices pane?

Right click on the sound icon, go to playback devices, and right click something there and 'show disabled devices'

Try disabling the NVIDIA ones and set the onboard to default. If there is no onboard option there might be a driver problem.

The X only disappears when using an hdmi cord, I think its the graphics card not allowing me to use my onboard audio jacks.

what does that panel look like for you with disabled devices shown? Screenshot? Snip and paste here, the uploader should work automatically.

as you see, the one marked hp is my screen, yet none of my speakers are showing up. You may see in my device manager, none of my realtek drivers are there even thought I installed them to the newest version. (also I'm using my hdmi cable and using onboard audio and it doesn't seem to work as ive said)

what's odd is in that device manager window, cant really see it all, but it looks like there's no unknown devices. What's your setup look like? If it's a laptop can I have the M/n?

Well, its a budget build with some spareparts and some of my birthday money, the original motherboard I still use in it is an hp xw4600 with a gtx 960 (don't ask lmao its one of my spares)  and windows 7 pro 64 bit. I did this for fun but it doesn't seem to be fun right now lol

If you know any tips on fixing this that would  be nice.
