Motherboard Question

I was looking at prebuilt PCs, since the recent cryptocurrency mining is making getting a GPU nearly impossible, and I saw one that seemed to have everything I needed. But when I was looking at the details, it said that it had an i5 8600K processor with an Intel X99 chipset motherboard. I don't know much about computer parts but I'm pretty sure that processor doesn't work with that chipset. Am I wrong or is that PC a scam?
