Upgrade/transfer

So basically I got a cheap prebuilt so I could upgrade it and it has all the necessary parts including a GPU not integrated and it boots up just fine. But I wanted to switch the mobo so that I can switch the bad CPU. SO my question is is there a way I can transfer my like windows and not have to get another windows product key or is that not possible?

i think windows is stored on hard drive/SSD so should be fine if you change mobo/cpu. Correct me if im wrong

That's what i thought because i have all my games and presumably windows installed on a hard drive so as long as i switch the mobo but use the same hard drive i should be fine

Yeah if you just plug the hard drive into the new motherboard and tell the new mobo to boot from that drive, nothing will change in terms of data.
