Allocate more RAM to Tekkit?

So confused. I have 8GB RAM and TechnicPack locks out at 1GB MAX. how do I fix?

maybe there is a file that stores the data, in which you can change it to whatever you like, but I'm not sure.

on a computer with 4GB I could set it to 4GB if I wanted, don't know why you can't do that.

Have you looked at the yellow ! beside the drop down? On it it says that you need 64bit java to select a higher amount. (Just a tekkit requirement as 32bit java should be able to use 4GB)
