Dell Overhaul

YellowMenace

I have an old Dell Optiplex GX240 that I gutted years ago and have just had the case laying around, gathering dust. I got the idea to make this case new and better looking.

It used to look like this:

Now it's sitting in pieces ready to be trimmed, the Dell logos be filled, and painted.
It now looks like this:

Now that it's ready to have work done on it, I need help with the color scheme; I had the Idea of painting it white and grey, but can't really figure out what colors it'd look best in. I created a poll to see what you guys think.

What colors do you guys think this'd look good in?

Also seen in the first picture of pieces I marked an area for a window to be cut from, should I add the window? Keep in mind, this an mATX case, I can't make it that big.

And lastly, for intake I was planning to cut out everything from behind the grey door on the front and put a fan there while using something like this for the front I/O.

What do you guys think of the plan?

Window is too small. don't bother because the case has little to no cables management options unless you have a custom length cables and the interior is painted. I'd still say no anyway. Do an air brush or fancy design/logo cut out perhaps?

The beauty of modular PSUs and making custom shrouds ;)

Maybe, I still don't know the budget quite yet, I'm just more busy scrounging up parts to put in this.

I think I've decided on the color scheme,

Black > white

Grey > Artic Blue

Metal > matte black (primer)

and if I do come around on putting that window in, Orange case lights and LEDs to contrast the blue.

For some reason, it makes me feel good when the options I select when I vote come up as the most popular  :D

Anyway, let us know when you get it done, would love to see it.

Major delay on the build, the PSU on my main system blew out and trying to get it replaced and finals come before all. luckly none of my parts were damaged.

Stay away from Diablotek kids. :T
