Borderlands 2 Won't save!!

I've been replaying Borderlands 2 (Awesome game) for some time now everything been working great however ever since my hard drive did a disk check the game doesn't save the progress that I had done, so yesterday in an hour game sesh, closed and saved the game however I went in today to play and I was back where I started. Can anybody help

Great game yes(I have like 1000 hours in it) I would just try to reinstall it. Make sure to back up your saves first though.
