Slow down hdd on purpose

it is currently not possible to have a working hard drive slow down its speed. it would mess with the way data is stored and read.

I was thinking more along the lines of wanting to slow spindle speed. This would make the system appear as if it were running normally, just very slowly. A virus would be trackable with process explorer and such.

Use a one of those variable power switches and have the hdd run at 12 volts but at a lower amperage
